O'Hare Wins Midwest Regional, TU Men Qualify for NCAA Championships - Tulsa Official Athletic SitePublished by
AMES, Iowa - Chris O'Hare won the individual title with a 10K time of 30:28.0 to lead the Tulsa men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships Friday afternoon at the Iowa State Cross Country Course. With the second-place finish, the Golden Hurricane men automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships, which take place Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. TU earned its first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The Hurricane scored 57 points, finishing just 12 points behind Oklahoma State, which totaled 45 team points. TU was 56 points ahead of third-place Iowa State. The Tulsa women's team finished 12th with 309 points in the 6K race. "We're excited, we're ready to go back to the big dance," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "We still have one more race to evaluate how this season is going to be.
