National Championship Hopes for No. 1 NAU Cross Country - Northern ArizonaPublished by
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Northern Arizona University's men's cross country team as well as Rolonda Jumbo of the women's cross country team will travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday Nov. 23rd. The men's 10K will begin at noon followed by the women's 6K beginning at 1:15 p.m. ET. The Lumberjack men will go into the meet ranked No. 1 in the country after defeating No. 3 Colorado at the Mountain Regional Championships last weekend. Led by sophomore Futsum Zienasellassie's third place finish, the team won the regional championship for the second consecutive season and will be looking to ride that momentum into the national meet. Zienasellassie returns to his home state of Indiana where he won three high school state titles at the Terre Haute course. "It's very exciting," said Zienasellassie.
