Auburn junior thrower Valentina Muzaric rewrote history on Saturday, setting a new school record in the shot put, as the Auburn track and field team completed competition at the 39th Annual Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. Muzaric, who held the previous record of 16.72m, recorded a throw of 55-9.25/17.00m, which is the longest in the SEC this season and fourth longest in the country. The Velika Gorica, Croatia native owns the top-7 throws in program history. "I was pleased with our efforts this weekend," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "We has several PRs, including Valentina who set a new school record and the number four throw in the nation in the shot put. We continued to get better as a group, despite the weather not cooperating with us in Auburn to allow us to work on our sharpness. Our athletes competed well and I like what I see with such a young group. If we continue to compete that way, we will continue to improve as the competition gets better."
