1. Florida State Returns top 7 and was expected to challenge for the win but they ran poorly at the 2013 NCAA meet.

2. Oregon has added two all-americans, Neer and Nerud plus Baxter and they return top 7 from last year.  After finishing 14th last year they could win.

3. Michigan returns its top 4 (and 5 of 6) from last year's 4th place finish (2nd was only 18 points better), 3 redshirts return

4. Michigan State returns another good pack running team and NCAA Steeple Champ O'Conner and they return top 4 and 6 of top 7

5. Georgetown ran well as a pack last year and returns top 3 and 6 of top 7

6. Butler is a developing program and returns 3 of top 5 and another great recruiting class - including Englist U-23 Steeple runner-up Laura Riches.

7. Arkansas came in as a trophy favorite and had a poor meet (see FSU) their experience will drive them this year.  Their top 5 returns.

8. Colorado - Transfer Sara Southerland from Texas will help overcome loss of Shalaya Kipp.  Wetmore has a developing team.

9. Providence lost 2 of their powerhouse 3 that drove them to the 2013 title but Coach Treacy is always ready to push the team to the top-10

10. Stanford - Has possible low stick in Cuffe, one of the top frosh in Cranny

11. Wisconsin - Returns top 4 and 6 of 7 on a young team.  If healthy, transfer Allison Woodard would make this a top 10 team.

Arizona loses two of top 3 (Kibet and Larsson) but returners gained valuable experience

One to be watched - Boise State had a huge recruiting class on the women's side and the likely low stick for the championship meet (Sr Emma Bates).  Coach Ihmels has had great success developing female teams and runners.

Other teams of interest New Mexico, Duke and Washington

When I set up new women's rankings, MSU moves to #2 and Oregon drops to #7.

Michigan has big drop-off after 2-3-4 after they lost #5 runner. Oregon is big question mark.
