Katahdin, Schneider are Region 13 champions
Published by John Denny on July 18th, 2016 Two Mustang Track Club athletes earned titles at the USATF Region 13 Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships, held July 7-10 in Seattle. Arthur Katahdin, who will be a freshman at Milwaukie High School this fall, cleared 12-1-1/2 for a runaway win in the 13-14 boys pole vault. Aiden Schneider, who will be a seventh grader at Alder Creek Middle School, launched the 6-pound shot put 37-3-3/4 for first place in that event in his 11-12 age division. Both athletes won by substantial margins. Katahdin’s winning vault was a personal record by 1-1/2 inches. The next best vault in his age division was under nine feet.
