A native of Winnipeg, Canada, and an All-American on the track while at the University of Minnesota, Andrea Grove-McDonough has proven herself a talented coach since retiring as a professional athlete in 2008. That fall she was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, and by the time she departed as head cross country coach in 2013, the Huskies had vaulted to an eighth-place nationals finish in 2012.
