At the US Indoor meet I spoke with Ty Sevin about the tremendous success of the athletes he coaches at the US championships last year.  Kara Patterson was the most successful with her American Record performance of 218-9 and a #6 world ranking by Track and Field News.

As you can see in the interview with Coach Sevin http://www.runnerspace.com/profile.php?do=videos&folder_id=-2&member_id=2572&video_id=37546 he helped with her technique and it helped having Olympic and world champion Andreas Thorkildson training at the center.  He only worked on technique with her last year.  This year they have worked on Kara's athleticism and she is stronger and more explosive.  This could be another breakthrough year for he if she can stay healthy.

He has worked with his athletes' health issues and helped her along with 2010 US champions Becky Breisch (Discus), Tim Mack (PV).  He also coached recently injured competitors to runners-up performances Mike Hazle (javelin), http://www.runnerspace.com/profile.php?do=videos&pg=1&member_id=2572&video_id=29711&year=2011&folder_id=-2&offset=0#video and  Becky Holliday (pr pole vault) and a third place performance by veterans Jarred Rome (Discus) and Briana Glenn (pr Long Jump) and the developing career of Melinda Owen (PV 5th at US, pr 14-9 1/4).
